Speciality of Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden.

It is the largest tulip garden in Asia spread over an area of about 30 hectares, The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden was opened in 2007 by then-CM Ghulam Nabi Azad, to promote tourism in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Srinagar garden is in full bloom with over 1.5 million tulips of more then 60 varities.

In 2008 Starting out with 50,000 flowers, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden has come to be a colossal exhibit of 15 lakh tulips including hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus — which, starting next week, will be on display for potentially lakhs of visitors. Although the tulip bloom lasts only about three to five weeks, the ground staff work tirelessly throughout the year to Maintain the quality of the bulbs. Throughout the year, the staff remains busy with multiple tasks related to the tulip garden, such as preparing it for the bloom season in March-April, examining the tulips for any diseases, and initiating the three-month harvesting process that begins in May and lasts till June.
