Bum Bholey Hello Guys, This is Naveen Dubey today in this blog I am going you tell you about my yatra story to Shiv Khori Cave Darshan after my Maa Vaishno Devi Yatra early morning we are heading in Bus ride towards Shivkhori Bus Depot is near Katra Market And this is Bust Stand We are going to book our Bus for Shivkhori Friends! soon as you reach the bus stop The first bus to shiv khori is at 9AM And till 10.30AM you will get buses for Shivkhori And they return back late in the evening on the same bus,
what is the price of the ticket?
Rs.220 per head to & from Katra Bus Stand.
Travel distance: is approx.80kms one way From Katra Bus Stand to Shivkhori I and my friend got 14 & 15 seats no and bus company name is Starbus.
An alternate option to travel towards Shivkhori from Katra:-
If you are not willing to travel by bus you may rent a private car Charges are Rs 2200 Non AC and 2500 AC car Irrespective of travel time or distance To and fro for one day obviously as you will return the same day.

First Halt: Friends this is our first halt and the Bus normally halts at 2 temples before reaching Shivkhori This is an ancient temple of Saint Jitoji Also you will find a small Garden over here in case wish to relax for a while Travelling by bus can be problematic As passengers in bus are mostly not on time. In that case, there is no fault on the driver's part If the driver has asked them to come back in 20mins Passengers need to come back in the scheduled time Basically before time in 15mins Since there was nothing much to explore in this temple,
Second Halt: This is one more halt at 9 Goddess Temple Shop keeper: Buy a red flower for Rs.10 Red flower, offer them to 9 goddess Shop Keeper: Aint you taking flowers offering for 9 Goddess Shop Keeper: May take Om Namah Shivaay Well Friends! you will get blessings from 9 goddesses at this temple and then we will move towards Shivkhori.
The view from this spot is really spectacular! Bus journey has its own charm, Heading towards shiv khori Friends! we are crossing the Chennab River may not be able to show you the grandeur of the River, since I am on a bus We are moving from Baragari Chennab comes from the glaciers of China and slopes down in India to touch Pakistan from here Look at here, this is Chennab There was a movie called Soni Mahiwal Soni belong from this mountain Sunny Deol who was an actor in Soni Mahiwal movie is my favorite So friends Soni Mahiwal a love story belongs to this mountain As you can see this mountain she was from there.
Food Break Halt: One more halt So we are getting down for some snacks Everyone kindly listen carefully You need to come back in 20 minutes Driver: Toilet, tea or coffee, Snacks or Kashmir Fruits Chat have it all Passenger: Ohk Sir Ohk so I am going for Kashmir fruit salad Rs.30 for one plate of fruit Chat, Brother Be aware of Monkeys Enjoy the scenic beauty and Having Kashmir's Fruit chat.

We will then move towards Shivkhori, now we have reached Shivkhori bus stand From here we need to hire a sharing taxi as there is no auto available Distance is around approx.1km to reach Shivkhori Base Camp So now we have boarded sharing taxi Charges are Rs.10 per head and total 10 pax in one taxi in case wish to hire privately then need to pay Rs.100 Did I say right? Driver: yes Thank you, brother, So we have reached base camp So now we are heading towards Lord Shiva It took too much time to reach the bus we boarded the bus at 9 and by9.30am we moved from Katra And with so many halts as you know And we reached at 13.40 hrs in the noon here at base camp And we are asked to come back by 17.30hrs Friends! you can see here there is an information board With the mention of time taken and distance to be covered By walk it will take 1hr for 3.5kms Pony Ride rates are Rs.500 to and fro Human carriers Rs.1400 to and from

Amarnath was very wide Here it is narrow But joy is the same Look at here same bridge

Shivay! God! taking fresh air in open space air is soothing so it's enjoyable Om
Namah Shivaay! Om Namah Shivaay! That was so relaxing excellent feeling What is the
price Rs.25 for per glass Nice cool Lemon Soda aerated Spicy drink So we
have climbed more than 1km journey so far Well this trek is not that steep
climb so it is not tiring No need to worry slowly we can reach the shrine within an hour
I saw toilets at 1km distance but unable to find a water source There are shops from where you can buy Water is for Rs 20 per liter and a cold drink for Rs.15 We have achieved the second phase mean more than 2kms journey and now only 1km distance is left Om Namah Shivaay! Om Namah Shivaay! Om Namah Shivaay! Slowly brother Om Namah Shivaay! Friends! today is such a divine day This is the Divine Month of Shravan according to the Hindu calendar And taking blessings of Shiva in Sharavan Month is just wow! I was unable to take you to the Amarnath Shrine trek but With this trek, I will be able to share the blessings of Shiva with you all Well friends! 3.5kms journey is about to finish only 100 more steps to reach the shrine Om Namah Shivaay Om Namah Shivaay,
Near Shiv khori Cave: So friends, we reached shiv khori shrine complex covering a 3.5kms trek Now we are going for blessings in Shrine But the queue for Shrine is very big And right here is the cloakroom You need to leave your mobile phones, camera, leather stuff, and belongings if any and you can go to shrine Bye, I am going to take Lord Shiva's Blessing Om Naham Shivaay Om Namah Shivay Friends, I received wonderful blessings from Lord Shiva In shiv khori Jai Bholey Jai Mahadev (another name of Shiva)
Cave Structure: Let me describe the cave structure, it was quite narrow There
was a big queue and this crowd was suffocating
But later inside the cave it was cool Passage from the entrance further is
quite narrow You need to walk like this sideways or bend sometimes And that
experience is really beautiful Cave is around approx. 100 meters in total with all
zig-zag path you reach the center of the shrine and receive blessings where
Mother Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva together is in one single stone formation Lord Kartikay Son of Shiv and Parvati on one
side another son Lord Ganesh on another side Lord Hanuman is on one side Lord
Krishna is on the ceiling opposite side up there And from top Goddess Ganga is
flowing Kamdhenu is also there in stone form Wow! it was a beautiful blessing to
have And ya one thing, when you move a little further to your left, is Mother
Goddess Vaishnodevi
All three Goddess are beautiful gracing the shrine And for you, all I have received and brought the blessings I wish to have each one of you commenting and bless me in return Because it is only for you all I have traveled so far What you saw is old cave entry And we have received blessings from old cave New route for the cave is from this side You will get entry quite soon in 5mins from there But the experience of the old cave is different Tale of this cave is.
Story Behind This Temple: There was a demon And he performed the toughest meditation to impress Lord Shiva Impressed with Demon hardship Lord Shiva shows his presence And asked the demon to ask for his wish So demon was after all a demon, he asked to be blessed with gift of Vanishing whoever he wishes to by placing his hand on their head Now bound with his promise Shiva had to full fill his wish So he blessed him and said fine done So now the demon who is known as Bhasmasur in todays time He tried to test the promise on Lord Shiva and ran after him Now Lord Shiva was confused So with his magical Trishul (a weapon) he created a narrow hole in the mountain and created this cave And as I told you passage of cave is quite narrow, So Bhasmasur was unable to enter the narrow passage due to his huge size he was a demon after all And our Lord Shivaay who is known for his innocence entered inside the cave along with his whole family Now Lord Vishnu came for his rescue with a plan And Lord Vishnu incarnated himself as Mohini Mohini is a beautiful courtesan who tried to seduce Bhasmasur Got dragged in her beauty, Bhasmasur also started dancing along with Mohini And while dancing he performed a form where Mohini kept hand on her head and And looking at her even Bhasmasur did the same And there and there Bhasmasur was Vanished into ashes So this is the tale we know about Bhasmasur and this cave,
known as Shivkhori Now the point is how we came to know about this cave there
is one more story once a cattle rearer his goat entered the cave Now cattle
rearer kept searching for goat and entered the cave Now to his surprise he
found few saints were worshipping inside the cave Saints asked him not to
reveal anything to anyone and keep this as a secret you will perform sin But his
curiosity led him to share the secret to villagers Basically he was a Muslim
cattle rearer he died after that hence we all found the secret of Shivkhori
So this is Innocent Lord Shiva's tale Lord Shiva is definitely innocent Har Har Mahadev (another name of shiva).
God we rushed and came fast Well friends only for you guys, We did not have tea, coffee, or snacks nothing while going we had mazaa and a water bottle that's it We came rushing to base camp Our driver told us What's your name? Driver: Chamanlal he told us to be back by 17.30hrs and have to be here anyhow and we all agreed And to our own surprise we entered the cave at 17.00hrs came out at 17.30hrs now how was this possible Now after reaching basecamp we are relaxed.
